On a touchstone, in front of you. The streak shows the colour. Then the electronic scale is zeroed and you read the same number we write. We do not melt jewellery to test it.
Yes, for gold pledged with a bank, gold-loan company or pawnbroker in the areas we serve. Share the slip first. We settle the dues with the lender, the gold comes back to your hands, then we buy it if you still want to sell. We are not a lender.
Cash, or bank transfer in some cases — typically bank transfer for larger amounts and for anything at or above ₹2 lakh. For pledged gold, the lender’s dues are subtracted and the balance is yours.
An honest offer needs the piece in front of the scale. Purity, net weight after stones and the day’s market all change the number. We explain the offer at the counter; we do not publish a rate board or a calculator.
Yes, silver is bought at the same counter. Doorstep visits are by appointment for about 5–10 g up to 100 g, only in the areas listed on this site — Chennai, Chengalpattu to Tada, Kanchipuram and Vellore. Above 100 g, please visit the shop.
